A Signal From Space. A mysterious language. Shoddy Technology.

It's 195X and the boffins at Area42 have discovered that Aliens are coming! They send a message ahead of time! We just don't know what they said. Decode the symbols to craft the perfect, peaceful response before the UFO arrives!

But be careful... Each transmission takes a day to decode and we only have 14 days before they arrive!

CONTROLS:

- ROW (1-0) + COLUMN (QWERTYUIOP) or Arrow Keys = Select a Symbol on the Console

- SPACE = Place the selected Symbol into the next open slot

- BACKSPACE = Clear your current row/column pick, or remove your latest slot entry.

- ENTER = Once the 5 slots are filled, this will Transmit your guess.

TO WIN:

Solve the 5-Symbol Code before your days run out.

Reading The Console:

Each guess you Transmit returns information from the UFO. This will update on our nifty Console as:

LOCKED SymbolGREEN + LOCKED = You got the right Symbol in the Right Slot! You won't be able to remove it from there because... why would you?

HIGHLIGHTED Symbol SPINNING + GOLD= This Symbol belongs in the Solution, but you didn't put it in the right spot.

GONE = The Symbol was deleted from the Console because we know it's not part of the Solution

[REMEMBER: Every Transmission costs a day, so be careful!]

--RESEARCH BUREAU--

Intel Example

Our fellows at Area 42 have plenty of resources at their disposal, they're just too busy to utilise them at all times. On the right side of your screen you will have access to two "Intelligence" actions. These actions WILL cost time, but can get you some invaluable information to solve the Alien's Code.

Refresh Intel Button

If you don't like what you see, you can refresh the actions for free, but only once per Transmission you make.

--SCORE--

If you're lucky enough to win, you'll be given a score. The fewer guesses you make, the fewer Intelligence actions you use, and the more days you have left all contribute to a higher score.

But don't worry about that. Focus on solving the Aliens' language, first and foremost!
